Lecture's on Faith, Lecture 6

5 For a man to lay down his all, his character and reputation, his honor and applause, his good name among men, his houses, his lands, his brothers and sisters, his wife and children, and even his own life also, counting all things but filth and dross for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ, requires more than mere belief, or supposition that he is doing the will of God, but actual knowledge: realizing, that when these sufferings are ended he will enter into eternal rest; and be a partaker of the glory of God.

6 For unless a person does know that he is walking according to the will of God, it would be offering an insult to the dignity of the Creator, were he to say that he would be a partaker of his glory when he should be done with the things of this life. But when he has this knowledge, and most assuredly knows that he is doing the will of God, his confidence can be equally strong that he will be a partaker of the glory of God.

I'm so glad to finally find this blog... I 've known for years that the media won't tell the truth about what was going on in Eldorado, Utah, Arizona, and B.C. But I've been having a very hard time finding the "other side" of the story.

Can you tell me what exactly it means to be "disfellowshipped" as you are?

Also, what is the current state of the FLDS? I know many homes have been seized, are people still able to worship together? Is the temple still being used?

My heart goes out to the families who have been hurt in Texas and elsewhere. How outrageous that one deranged woman in Colorado can cause so much pain.

Disfellowshipped is being asked out, but with communication and a conditional opportunity to rejoin. (I will answer no more questions about this, it is irrelevant to this blog, and personal)

The FLDS are in many places. The apostate suer system has seized the UEP which holds the land and homes in Hildale and Colorado City; but that isn’t enough for them, they are suing the trustees personally, or trying to.

The temple will probably never be used again.

Please write to every politician you can, and the judge and governor in Texas.

Sorry if I asked a personal question. I just know that the term "disfellowshipped" means many different things to many different people.

So the individuals who lived in Hilldale/Colorado City are now homeless? Is the United Order still being lived?

Another thing that I've never understood is how the FLDS support themselves - in other communities its fairly obvious (as with the Amish). The media doesn't seem to have anything to say about FLDS enterprizes, and only resorts to allegations of welfare fraud.

Are you open to the discussion of FLDS doctrines other than polygamy, or would that be throwing pearls to the swine? I've been curious for years about the FLDS, and haven't ever been able to ask questions from an honest source, so I have quite a few bottled up.

And by the way, I'm not trying to be anonymous, but this comment box doesn't seem to give me a choice.

That is just heartbreaking! Can't it be rededicated?

Matt- I don't mean to be so defensive, it's just that I have been asked that question several times from people who want to know only because they want more excuses to hate Warren Jeffs. I am where I am because of me, end of discussion.

As far as doctrine goes, I am not afraid to discuss any of it, in fact I have a lot of posts from my blog that I started a year ago. I will post them, but not all at once. But as far as questions, ask away.
(Select "Name/Url" if you don't have a blogger account)

Bored-
I just read that one of the men thought it was so desecrated he didn't care if they bulldozed it.

The United Effort Plan was a Trust that held the property of the people together; a tool to make the United Order possible. The United Order was being lived more completely in Texas and other places.

The FLDS are not like the Amish, in that there are no modern convienences they won't use. As far as supporting themselves there are many types and kinds of businesses they run.

Have you heard in the news about them pillaging the government with government contracts? They have one of the most advanced machine shop's in America, and quite a few good machinists. Many other trades and work also. Ever heard of 1800contacts.com? Their Head webmaster/programmer is FLDS. Twice they built a complete house in one day.

As far as doctrine, as long as you dont act the swine, I wont act the pearless clam :)

Matt- Its good to see someone out there that wants the truth. You can go to www.FLDSTruth.org for a lot of teachings. There is a lot to read. All about our faith and religion. Yes, I'm an FLDS mother. I love my religion.
I want to tell you, the hoax phone call that started all this was brought on by Flora Jessop. She call 5 girls that had left, on their own will, to make the phone call. They said "no" so she got someone else to make the call, and blamed it on the colored girl. My suspicions are that Becky Wall Musser made the call. She has been in the court rooms the whole time. So has Elissa Wall Barlow. Hmmmm, makes me wonder.

Along with...construction workers(all kinds of construction), manufacturers, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, clerks, secreteries, teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, farmers, ebayers, seamstresses, home health care, therapists, herbalists, pharmacists, policemen/women, fire-fighters, EMT's, paramedics, building inspectors, townboard members, architects, pilot escort drivers, truckers, and more...!

I think there is pretty good "evidence" that the FLDS can and do support themselves.

P.S...you can't build a house on welfare, food stamps won't cover it :)

The EMT's from the Colorado City/Hildale area are the best I have ever met. I would trust one of them over many of the doctors in the Washington County area. Most of my teachers at the CCUSD (Colorado City Unifed School District) were women. It is funny how many are saying they are uneducated. I knew many educated people. Three of my other mothers were educated teachers. I think that many that have left forget that there is some of us that do not have bitter feelings and we remember.
