The Vital Point

I have written about this before. Here and Here and Here Please read them again before reading this.

To clarify, it is part of the FLDS religion to have a prophet leader, and the way and reason he becomes the prophet leader is what qualified him to the FLDS PEOPLE. He doesn't have to qualify to you for him to be MY leader. We know his character, we know how much he has done FOR the purification of the people as a whole, and for Heavenly Father, (who IS COMING). We know how close he was to his father in all things, including perfect obedience. And we know what his goal, and purpose is, and the overriding point of why he has done what he has done. That is why none of us are worried, and why the crusaders, the CULT of bigots, have made the private words public, with their own evil spin. They actually think they can destroy our faith with them. That is the reason the government has arrested him and put him in jail, and that is the purpose behind all the persecution. To try to get his followers to stop. To me, all the crusaders do is make me feel sorry for them. They are only making themselves more dark and filled with hate. They only serve the devil in their crusade. They cannot harm my faith, or keep me from supporting this man, only I can do that.

I won't read the private words of my best friend, they are none of my business. I have already qualified him as my leader, and I will follow as long as the words he gives to me are the words that I believe correspond with the scriptures, and they do. I wont be listening to him through his (and thus my) enemies, if those are even his words.

These are commandments to the FLDS from God, to us. They are an important part of our religion.

“And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people; and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.” (Exodus 4:16)

“And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter [Warren], and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19)

“Wherefore, meaning the church, thou shalt give heed unto all his words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he recieveth them, walking in all holiness before me; For his word you shall receive as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith” (D&C 21:4-5)

“Cursed are all those that shall lift up the heel against mine anointed, saith the Lord, and cry they have sinned when they have not sinned before me, saith the Lord, but have done that which was meet in mine eyes, and which I commanded them. But those who cry transgression do it because they are the servants of sin, and are the children of disobedience themselves.” (D&C 121:16-17)

“For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye have received a commandment for a law unto my church, through him whom I have appointed unto you to receive commandments and revelations from my hand. And this ye shall know assuredly- that there is none other appointed unto you to receive commandments and revelations until he be taken, if he abide in me. But verily, verily, I say unto you, that none else shall be appointed unto this gift except it be through him; for if it be taken from him he shall not have power except to appoint another in his stead.” (D&C 43:2-4)

“Verily, if a man be called of my Father, as was Aaron, by mine own voice, and by the voice of him that sent me, and I have endowed him with the keys of the power of this priesthood, if he do anything in my name, and according to my law and by my word, he will not commit sin, and I will justify him. Let no one, therefore, set on my servant Joseph [Warren]; for I will justify him; for he shall do the sacrifice which I require at his hands for his transgressions, saith the Lord your God.” (D&C132:59-60)

It is a benevolent dictatorship, this FLDS religion is. God is our leader, and he reveals His will through one man to us, and his name is Warren Jeffs. If you don't believe that, fine, go and enjoy your life, and do the best that you can, and live your own religion in peace. For just as the Prophet Joseph said to his own brother who had physically attacked him:

“As it regards what course you shall pursue hereafter, I do not pretend to say; I leave you in the hands of God and His Church. Make your own decision; I will do you good, although you mar me, or slay me. By doing so, my garments shall be clear of your sins. And if at any time you should consider me to be an impostor, for heavens sake leave me in the hands of God, and not think to take vengeance on me yourself.” (Joseph Smith DHC 2:343)

Alas, A Vain Plea

Thanks for that Al

Your sense of loyalty to the man is admirable but is it really a good idea to have BLIND faith in this man you revere as a prophet?

Shouldn't you be willing to consider the fruits of the man in order to consider whether or not he is a true prophet?

Nice post Pliggy. Those diaries are none of our business, but anything goes, no matter how unethical or immoral, when it comes to attacking the FLDS

Dale, my faith is not "blind", and your assertion that it is, is rather insulting. I know the man, and I have no reason, none, to worry about him. Putting out these "dictations" was done for one purpose, and in my case, that purpose is futile, even if I read them all. I won't read them because they are the personal belonging of someone who I respect and admire. If you want to worry, that is your right and privilege, go ahead. But I am not blind, I have my eyes wide open.

Thanks Duane!

Define Blind Dale?

When God gives you something, ie. a testimony, and that testimony stays burning bright, then you don't have to analyze everything He does, you already know that He is doing what is right, and that He is doing what the Lord wants Him to do. I don't expect people to understand the rationale there, anymore that I expect to understand why you think the way you do. But my basic point being, God and His One Man always and only do right. Furthermore, it has been prophecied and promised from the Lord himself that if His One man was ever in danger of leading His people astray, He would take Him to Himself.

“The man who holds the keys is always the object of assault. His life is the life that is most sought after. He is the man they would strike down if they had the power. They seek to weaken the confidence of the people in him, by all manner of slanders, and every sort of falsification. It is the main object of our enemies to sow the seeds of distrust and suspicion in the midst of the Latter-Day Saints, and to accomplish this they relate all manner of falsehoods concerning those who bear the Priesthood of the Son of God. They contort every act. They misrepresent every word and every council that is given. They endeavor to put everything in a false light. And those who read those things continually begin to believe by degrees, that there is foundation for them, that there is something wrong, that this man or the other man is not to be trusted, and that they are doing wrong in yielding obedience to the counsels of the Priesthood, and in submitting to its control. You are aware these attacks are constantly directed against the Priesthood, and it is, as I say, the vital point today.” (George Q Cannon)

Gee, I guess you told me. So since you know the man, why don't you tell me? Tell me why he is the prophet.

I'm certainly open to taking my own advice and would consider the fruits of this man if you are willing to provide them.

Dale, I can tell rather plainly that you are not even remotely desiring to understand. I am not so foolish as to think you were serious.

Much of what I believe is the "fruits" of this man. If you think I am a "fruit" then look at me.

Al,

That was a total cop out. I was seriously willing to read what you would have written as far as evidence that WSJ is a prophet rather than just the man who stepped into his father's shoes that I currently consider him to be. I wouldn't have bothered to ask if I wasn't willing to consider what you would have told me.

But I'll browse through your past blog entries as time allows to learn more about at least one of his faithful followers. I might not understand WSJ from it but maybe I'll understand you.

And I'll keep an eye on your blog in case you change your mind.

Dale, how can "faith" be "blind"? You've stated an oxymoron.

There's no such a thing as "blind obedience" there's only "blind disobedience"!

Dale,
I am completely incapable of "proving" that a man is a Prophet to anyone. And anyone who wants to know must do better than ask someone else to "prove" that another man is a Prophet. I can't do it, God must.

All I can tell you is the Prophet before him pointed me to him; and my Father in heaven chose this man. I know it by faith and works. Every time I pray, with all my heart, my Father in heaven points me to this man. I don't know if that means anything to you, but it means everything to me.

Those who look for evil, will find it, and those who look for good, will find it too. The greatest good, the man whose whole being is yearning for the coming of the Son of God without ceasing, and gathering a people capable of being in His presence, is the man I look to.

(Matthew 16:1-4)

Al,
I thought about what you wrote and I think you are right. No man can prove that sort of thing, only God can.

I did make the mistake of jumping to a conclusion based on what his detractors are putting out there into the public sphere.

I don't think I could ever consider him a prophet because I believe that another holds that position. But when you talk about faith and works I understand what you mean because that sort of thing means a great deal to me too.

I don't know if WSJ is a good man or a bad man so I would like to hear about him and his works from his friends not just his enemies. I do know that being an advocate of plural marriage does not make him a bad man. I myself am an advocate of decriminalization of plural marriage.

I'm sorry to have caused offense on your blog.

Dale, your comments were not offensive or I wouldn't publish them. I think they were interesting and I felt like they would be interesting to respond to, and for others to see.

I think we both believe that the constitution is an inspired document, so think of it this way when you read anyones blog

Who advocates freedom and who does not. When someone comments, are they selective in who gets freedom and who does not?

I have never heard or read anything that Warren Steed Jeffs has ever done to try and take away someones freedom, I find him Innocent! And as far as his fruits? look at his children are yours as clean as his?
