Brainwashing

I know I haven't posted anything for a while, I guess I have run out of things to say here. Those who make the effort to read what I have written and the links to other interesting blogs, should be able to understand the FLDS prospective enough to know that the religion is not evil, and the followers of the religion are not evil. That was my purpose for this blog, and the only thing I can think of to write more is the same things over again.

Those who will not try to understand never will, and those who search my words to try to find evil in it, always will, so for them I can do nothing.

The culture we are raised in creates our perspective somewhat, second only to our personal choice, and I grew up with many brothers and sisters and my father has more than one wife. I know that my mothers are wonderful, and happy, and they would not change their lifestyle or religious beliefs any more than my father would. I know this is true for hundreds of my family members. But I guess I have been "brainwashed" to believing that it is normal. I went to Alta Academy and knew Dan Fischers family well, and Ward Jeffs family well, but I did not know that their home life was not as good as mine.

Yet in discussing the polygynist life with others who feel it is wrong, and that it is their duty to vilify the FLDS, they will tell stories of horrors in their own families and then try to blame that o n the religion of the FLDS; and say it is because of polygamy that some women and children have been abused among the FLDS. I think they are brainwashed, because I know they are wrong.

Polygyny is no more abusive than Monogamy, it is a family choice that the FLDS believe is sacred and wonderful if lived in righteousness.

Repetition is a good way to learn. I would enjoy another list of "FLDS enforcers", I chuckled for days over that one :-)

Start a list of the advantages in your life style hare with readers. The only ones left to debate will never change their minds, all others that may have questioned what was so bad now see the truth.

I guess it is the "fight" that I am tired of.

I could make a list of the "Enforcer" women, how about that? LOL... except they could "enforce" some more, and I might become a "victim" :0)

Yes I did read the story about Aunt Vera, and I waded into the hate filled comment section under the story, which is the ugliest place I have been to yet, and some of why I wrote here what I did. They are beyong hard nuts to crack, they are a gathering of the dark hearts.

I will do better.

I guess it has been awhile since this has been going on. The unfortunate thing is, it seems like it will only be a matter of time for the next "fight"; this has been going on for 170 years, why would it all of a sudden stop now?

Be encouraged Al, I think of you a lot and a lot of you!

"I guess it is the "fight" that I am tired of."

That's how I took it. When I wrote my comment I was thinking of the scene in the "Pollyanna" movie that crosses my mind often.

Hayley Mills happens across Karl Malden, who is playing the type that preaches 'fire & brimstone', while Malden is practicing his his next sermon.

She tells Malden to search for the good things to teach his church.

I am certainly sorry Maayan, I didn't realize that ztg was reffering to a race of people. I have removed his and your post because I don't care for the fight here.

How did they choose that list of "enforcers"? How did Ruth Cooke get on the list? She was that woman in Laurie Allen's film, does anybody know what she did?

duane,

They made the list with stories from apostate men, most likely from Richard Holm, Jethro Barlow, Winston Blackmore, Ross and Isaac Wyler/Chatwin. The inclusion of Ruth is comical, as she probably sent letters to the Warden about tearing down the walls of the prison to get Warren Jeffs out.

Thanks Pliggy. When I first read that list, with Willie Jessop's "menacing stares", I was LMAO! Pure unadulterated hyperbole!
It was as if LE were teenagers spreading rumors and gossip!

Ruth Cooke was put on the list by Gary Engles
